Head Boy:	Head Girl:
As Head boy I have lots of roles and responsibilities to carry out when I represent our school. I have to do lots of jobs around our school community. I will carry out these responsibilities throughout our school academic year (2025-2026). After the 7 years I have spent in this school, I have gained a lot of knowledge over the years. I help in the School Parliament and I stay after school to help support events like the Christmas Fair. One of my main jobs is when I give many certificates out in Friday’s Worker of The Week assemblies. I always try to go to school on time every day. I love sports activities like Tag-Rugby and football. I am always available to listen to people’s opinions and views about school matters. I work alongside the head	As head girl, I have many responsibilities such as welcoming people to our community. It is a very enjoyable job and I love being able to showcase our many talents. Every mass, I serve at the altar; I am proud to display my strong faith in God. I value my time in the School Parliament and relish the opportunity to express my ideas to benefit the school. In past years, I have been a prayer leader and Phunky Foods Ambassador. I  have the benefit of strengthening my faith  and the faith of others. Along with this, I take pleasure in being a role model to younger students and encouraging them to do the same. I love my role as Head Girl; I can’t think of a better role to have.
Deputy Head Boy:	Deputy Head Girl:
As Deputy Head Boy of this school, 2025/26, I have many responsibilities. I will be a positive role-model during the year and live the values and virtues  that God has given me. I am a Catholic, and I will help others in this school to carry out God’s message to make St Modwen’s a better school this year. I feel really proud to have this position. In addition to this, I have represented our school in sports competitions: running, football, swimming. Along with the Headboy, Headgirl and Deputy Headgirl, I am also a member of the school Parliament and I help out at events like the Christmas fayre in the hall. I have received my Holy Communion and I am now preparing for Confirmation. In year 6, I am learning some useful Maths, Reading and English to help me in my SAT’s in May.	As the Deputy Head Girl, I have many responsibilities and roles through which I hope to improve our school and the ways in which we learn.  I hope that my time in St Modwen’s can assist many people.  Like many Deputy Head Girls before me, my only intention is for the better of our school. I have always tried my best to matter how hard things get and love to have multiple responsibilities.  Roles I have in this school include :School Chaplains, Math champion, Digital Leader, Mental health youth ambassador and Librarians. I have also been a part of pupil parliament.  I am very proud to represent all these wide range of activities.  I do enjoy being part of many groups as they all give me a way of seeing our Catholic faith and our school. I am a Catholic child and take my faith very seriously.  Whilst I study at St Modwen’s I would like to teach others about my faith and why they attend a catholic school. I am very pleased to have been elected deputy head girl and will do all that is in my power to make everyone really happy and to make sure that their time at St Modwen’s is exceptionally enjoyable as mine has been and hopefully will continue to be.

School Chaplains

The role of our School Chaplains at St Modwen’s is an important one, as they work to help the school reach our vision of ‘Excellence for All through Jesus’ Love’.  The Chaplains provide spiritual guidance, lead religious services and help to create an environment of inclusion and respect.  In addition, the Chaplains are involved in undertaking some liturgical ministries; leading Advent Rolling Worship and leading others in prayer.  School Chaplains have opportunities to plan class liturgies and meet regularly to discuss Catholic life within our school, ensuring all children have the opportunity to build a personal relationship with God.

Altar Servers

The Altar Servers assist the priest with various tasks during Mass by helping to set up the altar and in conducting the liturgical rituals. They are also expected to set a good example to other pupils by paying attention during Mass, following the instructions of the priest, and participating in the service.

School Parliament

Our school is a place where everyone is equal.  Each person’s voice deserves to be heard.  The School Parliament aims to help make that happen.  Our School Parliament consists of a representative from each student team and each year group.  Guiding the way, our leader, deputy leader, speaker and chancellor help us to ensure everyone gets a chance to speak and that significant moral and financial principles are considered.  We see a key part of our job as giving back to the school which provides us with an excellent education each day.  We do this by raising funds to donate to particular subjects and projects within school through our Investment Grant programme.  Using the funds we have raised, we consider applications from the different school teams and assign pockets of money to them based on an internal parliamentary vote.  In addition, the funds we raise each year help support our trip to London to visit the Houses of Parliament and learn valuable lessons from the examples set by our government and opposition parties.

Eco Committee

The Eco Committee is responsible for making sure that our school community is being friendly and caring towards our environment. Because we are the stewards of our planet, as Eco Committee members we run and take part in various initiatives throughout the year as we try to maintain our Eco-School Status.  We recycle, pick up litter, compost, count birds, monitor air pollution, encourage children to walk to school, collect batteries and make sure that all the lights are turned off when classrooms are empty.

Librarians

At St Modwen’s we want to promote the love of reading throughout school. As well as creating a vibrant and engaging library, the librarians ensure that there are a range of genres of books which inspire and represent all of our children. Our team strive to be excellent role models and thoroughly enjoy working with the younger children to develop their love of reading from an early age. Our librarians work alongside other teams to support events such as Children’s Mental Health Week where they lead sessions for children to come along and listen to stories.  

Maths Champions

The Maths Champions help ensure Maths is celebrated across the school. They meet regularly to plan activities, clubs and events to help promote Maths and help pupils across the school improve their maths skills. They help give out certificates, plan Maths week activities and help with Maths workshops after school.

Mental Health Youth Ambassadors

It’s important to talk about how you feel with people you trust.  Our Mental Health Youth Ambassadors aim to help St Modwen’s students to share how they are feeling in honest, appropriate and respectful ways.  As well as setting up established areas for this kind of work to take place, our Ambassadors also run workshops and support children on a friendly 1-1 basis.  The group meet regularly to talk about how they feel too, and model the openness we hope will see our school continue to flourish.

Phunky Food Ambassadors

As Phunky Food Ambassadors, we have received regular training from our Phunky Food teacher, Helen Thorne.  We have been able to deliver whole school assemblies on a range of topics and issues about the food we eat.  We are also able to spread messages to children in the school about how to live healthier and more active lifestyles.

Sports Council

Through its activities, the Sports Council helps to promote physical fitness and team spirit throughout St Modwen's.  The team also help to develop the values of self-discipline, fair play, respect for others, and leadership. In addition, the Sports Council encourages pupils to participate in sports and other physical activities in order to become physically fit and to have fun. Through its activities, the Sports Council helps to foster a spirit of sportsmanship and a sense of belonging within the school. In this way, the Sports Council helps to create an environment in which everyone can achieve excellence through Jesus’ love. The Sports Council at St Modwen's have been key advocates for health and fitness, helping to create weekly routines for Wake and Shake and supporting the development of OPAL.

Computing Ambassadors

As members of the Computing Team, we are responsible for looking after the computing equipment around the school.  We keep the trolleys tidy and organised and help with making sure everything is put back properly at the end of lessons.  We also help people with logging on and using Google Classroom.  We are also good at spreading e-safety messages around the school.
