What we have been learning this week.....
Nursery:
What a lovely start to the Festival of Prayer Week we had! A big thank you to Little Acorns for providing such wonderful activities for the children to explore in the outdoor environment. They were kept very busy and had a fabulous time. Look out for the photographs on Tapestry.
To celebrate the festival we have been learning the prayer 'Our Father', completed activities about our friends and how we can help them. We have read a story about a 'Messy Magpie' and how after time with all the rubbish he collected made our environment very messy. This lead to a discussion about how we can look after all that God created.
Year 1:
In Year 1, we have had a busy week celebrating the Festival of Prayer. We have listened and read the Lord's prayer and engaged in a lot of exciting activities throughout the week. We really enjoyed the talent show and cheered along for our friends. We ended the week with a lovely picnic on the field with a friends and families.
Year 2:
We have had a brilliant time celebrating our Festival of Prayer week. We looked at the Our Father prayer in detail. We have created collaborative artwork based on the Creation Story. We had a lovely liturgy, which some parents were able to join us for. A highlight was our liturgy with Mrs Sherratt and Miss Smith as we loved creating friendship bracelets and writing prayers. We also drew what we think God's Kingdom looks like and discussed our choices. We created a short presentation to explain to other children what God's Kingdom is. We had a great time watching the talent show. We had our transition morning and found it very exciting to spend time in our new classroom. What a wonderful week!
Year 3:
Year 3 have had a lovely time in school celebrating our Festival of Prayer week. We created prayer hearts that are hanging outside the classroom windows. We have also created Our Father paintings, decorated crosses, made Our Father spinners and taken part in several liturgies.
Year 4:
We have had a fabulous week during Festival of Prayer week. We have been looking at the Our Father and thinking about what the different vocabulary means to us. We have also been thinking about the Act of Contrition and we came up with images to help us to remember this. On Thursday, the children did a great job at showcasing their talents and on Friday, we had a lovely time during the Festival of Prayer garden party.
